With this engine, the Frenchman Bleriod was the first to fly his Bleriod IX across the English Channel to England in 1909. The engine had 25 hp and turned just under 1200 rpm. Back then, flying was still an adventure in a way that is hard to imagine today.
The model is built on a scale of 1:4 and, as is usual for me, is constructed from elaborate sand-cast parts.
